Mantra: Assisting women & seniors to rebuild strength and rediscover the joy of living freely.

I was born in an unhealthy family. Both sides of my grandparents were diagnosed with osteoporosis in their early 60's and they had hard times walking without their stick. Back in the days, I was a little boy, and I thought 60 years old was old enough to prepare for the "end" of life... I remember when we were travelling, my grandmother thought she should not travel with us and she should sit at home with their "Crackly" knees and lower back, waiting for their day to come because they are "OLD"..... But deep down in their heart, I can see and feel they actually want to join us and bond with her children and grandchildren, but she just couldn't walk independently. Back in the days, the question on my mind was "How could I help my grandma"

When I was 18 years old. (In 2018), I was unsure about my career direction, but I know I love sports. So I went to fitness courses and became a certified personal trainer and I hope I could train my family members to stay healthy. I was so fortunate that my mum was very supportive when I was a coach, during my first year as a personal trainer, I coach my mum and she paid my previous company that I work with for the coaching sessions and it was very rewarding as she gets to solve her knee strain problem and build sufficient lower body muscle mass while i get to earn some money. She was very happy and she even continued to train herself up until today. With that being said, I have a regret because I did not know enough about strength training before my grandparents passed.

After 8th years of coaching, I decided to create Fit Metrics (In 2024). Fit Metrics is a private personal training studio focused on assisting women & seniors to rebuild strength and rediscover the joy of living freely. We are not just a typical gym, we are a fitness center that prioritizes women & seniors' fitness needs like falling prevention, rehabilitation, coordinations, reactions, strength and overall well being. Trust me, it is easier said than done. Before we started our business, I was clueless, as the market was full of six packs programs... or 30 days lost 30kg kind of nonsense.... one of my old friends asked "Hey, what business are you doing now?" I said "Personal training for seniors and women!" At first, I was full of confidence, but not until he laughed out loud saying "Where got old people want to go gym oh!? Everyone now wants results like six packs and a big butt!" I hold onto that grudge, and insist on my goal.

Fast forward, after 14 months of running this business, we have had a total of 102 clients purchase our packages, we are helping all our clients to train safely under a metrics program. We start our clients programs with specific movement assessment like lumbar flexion/extension to make sure our clients mobility are in a safe range. We even trained a client named (May) who finished both hips and knees replacement to regain her strength and confidence, our service is a post stage of injuries, unlike physiotherapy that is helping patients to treat their pain, we help clients to prevent from having pain again. And we do train younger crowds who desire to look aesthetically good, We have a team of 7 trainers, 1 location in Malaysia, and we are looking forward to spreading this awareness to the market by expanding our services and location. Running this business feels like i have been given a second chance to give back to the community, tho i was too late to help my grandparents, but me and my team is dedicated and shared the same vision to support our elders to flourish and have a pain free life during their golden age so that they can carry their grandchild while shopping, moving their own groceries back to their cars, and travel safely with their beloved family. In the next 5 years, we hope Fit Metrics will be the go to personal training studio for all the grandparents out there.
